The Aston development was executed over three phases. The first phase, Aston Place, is a 3-story apartment building over a parking garage. The garage was designed as a semi-recessed basement made to feel like a raised foundation. The courtyard of this phase faced onto Aston Row, which is Phase 2 of this development. Aston Row is a single long row of townhomes facing the courtyard across an alley which was upgraded to feel like a street. The third phase, Aston Estates, was required by the historic commission to blend into the residential street and was designed as two and three family buildings with a more historic character. The buildings all possess their own unique stylistic identity, so the project does not feel like one large development. This project was the successful synthesizing of the Owner’s vision and that of the neighborhood into a successful project.
